Clody's One Eye Golf
The Worlds Only One Eye Golf Scramble
September 13, 2008 The Doctors from Riley's visited Greencastle and provided free vision screenings for children. They set up at
the Greencastle Moose Lodge from 10 am til 2 pm while the golf scramble was going on. Several parents brought their children for the
screenings and some received early detection results that otherwise they may never of known.. The normal cost of the high tech
screening would normally be $187 per screening.

On December 12, 2007, Terry Clodfelter and Committee members visited Dr. Plager and Dr. Neely in Indianapolis, the home of
the IU Department of Ophthalmology, to present this years donation raised with the help of local businesses and community of
Greencastle and surrounding areas in Putnam and Clay counties the sum of $10,000. Cody's One Eye has raised over $100,000 over
the past 12 years. This amount was the result of the 12th annual Clody’s One Eye Golf Scramble held in September 2007, at Old
Hickory Golf Course in Greencastle, IN. Also from the 2007 proceeds a a
new vision screening device was purchased. This device is
designed to perform eye screening on preschool children and identifies conditions that can lead to preventable blindness in children
(amblyopia). It also can tell you if a child needs glasses. For more information and pictures of this device

On November 29, 2006, Mr. Clodfelter and his group of loyal, generous friends journeyed to the Rotary Building, the home of the
IU Department of Ophthalmology, to present Dr. Helveston and Dr. David A. Plager, director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and
Adult Strabismus Service, with a check for $11,000.  This amount was the result of the latest Clody’s One Eye Golf Scramble held in
September 2006, at Old Hickory Golf Course in Greencastle, IN.

2005 - The team from Clody's One Eye Golf Scramble made their tenth visit to the Pediatric Ophthalmology Department of Riley Children's
Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. Clody and his committee presented a check for $11,000 representing the proceeds from their latest event.
This is actually the thirteenth Clody's One Eye Golf Scramble, and the tenth supporting the efforts of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Riley
Hospital.  During the past ten years this unique event has raised more than $90,000 for children's eye care.  It all started through the efforts of
Terry Clodfelter who himself is "one eyed" as a result of a childhood accident which caused him to lose most of the sight in one eye.  A
genuine humanitarian spirit and a loyal band of friends inspired Terry Clodfelter to create the only golf tournament of its kind in the world.
Funds from this event have made it possible for local children to receive surgical care at Riley Hospital, for the purchase of advanced
diagnostic and treatment equipment for the clinic, and for the diagnosis and treatment of children with eye disease in far corners of the world
even including a child from Kabul Afghanistan.  Our hats off to this generous group of Hoosiers.

November 18, 2004:  The proceeds from the 12th annual Clody's One-Eye Golf Scramble are donated for the Education and Research
Foundation for Children's Eyes in support of  blindness prevention in children in Indiana and the world.  The delegation includes  seated left to
right:  Cathy Clodfelter, Clody, Kathy Sparks; standing left to right:  Tony Sparks, Eugene Helveston (holding the check), David Plager, and
Brad Alspaugh.   This generous donation of $9,500 will be used to help reduce the incidence and severity of blinding disease in children.  This
effort was recognized by golfing legend Arnold Palmer who sent along his best wishes as shown in the picture held by Clody.  The event was
held at Old Hickory Golf Course in Greencastle, Indiana.  Next year's event is scheduled for September 17, 2005.

December 9, 2003:  Clody and Riley's One Eye Golf Scramble, the only such event of its kind in the world, continues its support of Cyber-
Sight with this check for $13,500.00.  This event was commemorated with a montage giving graphic description of the connection between
this unique event and those served worldwide.  The self-less effort of the organizers of this event is demonstrated by the fact that on the way
home from this ceremony they had plans to visit several potential donors for next year's golf scramble.  The cost of Cyber-Sight worldwide
which is now an ORBIS Telemedicine program continues to expand.  No matter how much this program expands, the importance of the
initial support provided by Clody and Riley's One Eye Golf Scramble continues to be vitally important.  This group was there at the beginning
and their continued support makes it possible to maintain the computer-based nerve center of this worldwide program staffed by Riley
doctors at Indiana University.
